SCOTT EMERSON's international career has ranged from Opera to Oratorio, and from Musical Theatre/Operetta to contemporary operatic works.
Recent highlights include: SWEENEY TODD (Pirelli/Fogg) - in Olivier Bénézech's new production at the Festival d'Hardelot and at Opéra de Reims starring Jérôme Pradon, INTO THE WOODS (Cinderella's Father) in Lee Blakeley's fourth installation of the Paris Sondheim Cycle at the Théâtre du Châtelet, Sarna Lapine's new production of SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE (Franz/Dennis) with Short North Stage, and the 2013 prizewinning "Supersized" Lee Blakeley production - French premiere of SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE (Mr.) at the Théâtre du Châtelet- Paris, starring Julian Ovenden. Two new productions of SWEENEY TODD- Gateway Playhouse- Long Island, New York (Pirelli) and The French premiere of SWEENEY TODD at the Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris starring Rod Gilfry and Caroline O’Connor (ensemble and U/S Pirelli). Also - productions of TOSCA with Opéra de Massy conducted by Antonello Allemandi, and Poulenc’s LES MAMELLES DE TIRESIAS with the Cormatin summer festival produced by the Jean-Louis Martin-Barbaz Studio Company.
Scott was a company member and soloist with the French National Opera in Lyon for three seasons. Since 1994, he has been associated with the Opera-Comique, Paris as a guest artist, and was principal tenor for three seasons 1997-2000, singing over 100 performances in such works as: LE COMTE ORY, DON GIOVANNI, IL MATRIMONIO SEGRETO, LA SONNAMBULA, LES MAMELLES DE TIRESIAS , CARMEN and L’HEURE ESPAGNOLE. He has appeared with equal success in both opera and operetta throughout France: Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Strasbourg, Châtelet, Nice, Saint-Etienne, Avignon, Nantes, Reims, Festival Aix-en-Provence…
International highlights have included debuts in Milan (Fabio Vacchi’s LA STATION THERMALE) San Francisco (Prokofiev’s LOVE OF THREE ORANGES) and Santiago, Chile (Rossini’s IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA).
Upcoming Highlights include: Olivier Bénézech's revival of SWEENEY TODD (Pirelli/Fogg) at the 2016 edition of the Festival d'Hardelot, promotional concerts and a new recording with the Spirit of Chicago Orchestra (retro 1920's Jazz), Paul-Émile Fourny's revival of Britten's MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM (Puck) at Opéra Metz, France...
